Dear husband (DH) recommended I provide some specific references for good safari books/blogs/guides to get you started, if you want to plan your own safari. I immediately took his suggestion and told him it was a great idea and how wonderful he was for critiquing my blog. No, I didn’t, but I realized he was right–that would be useful. I did also, eventually, thank him.
Here are just some highlights. I will come back and add more resources as I find them!

Guide Books
I really like the Bradt books for Africa. I find reading guide books to be helpful, even when I’m just thinking about a place. The Bradt books are updated frequently, and have a lot of detail (including multiple books on Tanzania, so you don’t get a one size fits all book). For example, this book on Tanzania, and this one on Uganda.
In case you are wondering: No, I do not get any remuneration for the links above–these are just honest suggestions!
